riverbed_ lun on steel fusion edge

Arno Kobarg

Hi Guys,

Just wondering what this lun is for ? It can only be seen on the ESX console. Are we able to use it for VM's ? It doesn't appear on the core.

Any help would be greatly appreciated !

    Hi Arno,

Yes, you can use it in ESX for data that you don't need replicating back to the Core. It's a vmfs partition that is local only and the Core does not know about it. I would recommend using it for VMware swap files, temp files, etc. Just understand that it could break backups on the data center side if your backup software fails to snapshot the VM due to a missing disk.

    Hope this helps,
