Anyone have any experience deploying a vSH physically in-path? I'm currently researching this type of deployment and wanted to see if anyone in the community has done this. If I go this route I'd be purchasing the Riverbed bypass NICs for all my ESXi boxes to have identical physical configurations.
My biggest concern is how the vSH and my ESXi boxes would interact with the cards during a vMotion or host crash. Based on the documentation, you pass-through the physical NIC to the guest. When the vSH guest comes up on the my other ESXi host, how does the vSH handle the new hardware? Would there be any conflicts with different MACs or hardware identifiers?
Any thoughts would be great.
